the Lord's answer

be used to
show how the
Jews were to
be saved?"
Did the Lord Jesus Christ, during His
earthly
ministry,
teach that the
Jewish pathway
to eternal
life was
"keeping the
commandments?"
Many
dispensationalists
will use the
Lord's answer
to the rich
man in Matt.
19:17 to
illustrate the
theological
premise that,
while those in
the Body of
Christ today
are saved "by
faith apart
from the works
of the law,"
(Rom. 3:28)
Jews and
converts to
Judaism in the
previous age
were saved by
"faith plus
works," i.e.,
faith plus
obedience to
the law.
However, is
this a
legitimate use
of this
passage?
